BT-EHS / OS Ethylhexyl Salicylate Description

BT-EHS Ethylhexyl Salicylate is an effective oil-soluble UVB absorber with a UV absorbance (E 1% / 1cm) of min. 165 at 305nm for various applications. This product with the appropriate base material could be made of sunscreen (cream, emulsion) and other skin care cosmetics (dosage of 3% - 5%), it can effectively absorb the ultraviolet rays in the sun, prevent human skin red and sunburn. It is also used as a remedy for photosensitive dermatitis. Add in shampoo, it can prevent fading. In industry it

can be used as plastic, printing ink, such as anti-aging agent and ultraviolet absorbent. This product is a general chemical, with good storage and transportation stability, it is non-flammable and non-explosive, non-toxic and

harmless.

Sunscreen Agents BT-EHS Characteristics 

• A cost-effective UVB filter

• It is oil soluble and can therefore be used in water-resistant sunscreens

• BT-EHS is not a strong filter in itself, it is always used in combination with other sunscreen agents to further enhance the SPF and to solubilize other solid filters

• It has a good safety profile and is allowed to be used at a mac dosage of 5% both in the US and in Europe (6% is allowed in Canada)
